FUNimation Adds Anime Rentals On Facebook

FUNimation just added another way for anime fans to get their fix: video rental via Facebook.

In a blog post that went live earlier today, the company described how their new "FUNimation Social Cinema" app lets you watch, comment on, and share anime rentals from their library of titles directly on Facebook. Prices for rentals start at $1.99, and rentals are valid for 48 hours.

Using Facebook as a video rental portal seems to still be a very shaky idea. The last time a major push was made in that direction was from Warner Brothers, who offered The Dark Knight as a rental. It doesn't seem to have touched off a major wave of Facebook video applications, though.
