Anime Review Infinite Stratos

One thing I love about anime is how it makes everything look stylish -- yes, even future war machines and combat technology. In anime, it seems, the war machine of the future will be something you slip on like an evening dress or a three-piece suit.

In the world of Infinite Stratos, the new mecha / SF / comedy series courtesy of Sentai Filmworks, the "Infinite Stratos" of the title is just such a machine -- a personal suit of fighting armor that looks classy enough to give Tony Stark a fit of jealousy (and destructive enough, too).

But the real danger to Ichika, the newest (and so far the only male) pilot of the Infinite Stratos, isn't from war machines per se -- it's from the sudden flood of attention he's received from his female classmates. A former childhood friend -- wait, make that two former childhood friends -- a slew of foreign transfer students, and his own older sister are all going to make his life very, very complicated.

Infinite Stratos mixes several genres at once -- the anime staples of the mecha and harem genres, mainly, but also straight-up science fiction.

But how successful is the mixture? Is it a blend or just a collision? You'll have to read our review to find out.
